8 years ago I attended a local workshop on beekeeping, having never considered taking up beekeeping before then, little did I know that two years later Aecre Honey would be born (Although we were originally called Brighton Bee Company).
Aecre Honey grew at an exciting but terrifying speed, going from 1 hive in my garden at home, to around 30 in its first year. At its peak we were managing a few hundred hives, across a handful of apiaries dotted around the beautiful Sussex countryside.
I've had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic people along this journey, from those within the beekeeping community, those who I've traded with at various markets over the years, our fantastic stockists, and of course, our brilliant customers, who i've loved meeting and talking all things bees and honey over the years.
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an an end, and with that, Aecre Honey will be closing its doors and hanging up our bee suit.
I'll still be keeping a few hives for personal enjoyment over at The Macs Farm, so if you're local to Ditchling, you might be able to pick up some Honey during the season from their Egg Shack.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, this will forever be a chapter in my life that I'll look back on fondly.
